Okay, okay, okay...quit carping and face reality. These days it takes money to play. If Ogsbury has the bucks then shut up and let him take on Mitchell. It is a save bet that comb-over Mitchell is robbing his own piggy bank (and those of his supporters) to hang on to the best job he'll ever have.

I would recommend that you take a look at the FEC campaign reports. 76% of Mr. Ogsbury's money has come from out of Arizona. Not to mention, most of those contributions are from Lobbyists. I would like both of you to ask yourselves weather or not we need another lobbyist in Washington. In a day where Congress seems more like a congress of the lobbyists by the lobbyists I think we need to support a candidate who will bring true reform to capital Hill. I would challenge both of you to check out David Schweikert. He is a good man with a strong record. Here is his website: www.david08.com

John

Couldn't agree more. I expect better from the Trib. Ogsbury raised more than three times as much as Laura Knaperek, a ten year state rep and former Appropriations Committee Chair. If you've followed politics in this state for more than a few cycles, you'd see that Trent Franks never raised more than 100k in his entire successful primary for Congress, and that Jeff Flake never had more than 340k cash on hand in the primary.

100k is a lot for this early in the year, more so for a first time candidate in a crowded field against an incumbent. It's also more money than our Congressional delegation reported in the Fall quarter their first time out.

Curious post. I think Le Templar is making too fine a point. Take a step back from the microscope, and you see a relatively unknown candidate, a Republican in a contested primary running against a Democrat with the power of both incumbency and majority, and the challenger has somehow convinced at least 42 people to part with $100,000 of their own money (that's assuming max pac checks). Combine that with the personal $ pledge and you have a candidate that must be taken seriously. I don't see the error in that. This is a silly snarky post and another good example of why journalists should try to remain journalists and leave the blogosphere to the underwear jockies who have no professional credibility to protect; only a platform.
