Le I would love to talk with you about the news papers printing a story stating that I confessed. Because I never commited this crime I never once confessed. I maintained my innocense through questioning and badgering from the police. I would like to know how the press works in these cases with the police department. I can not find a job, for the reason being when you google my name it states that I am a confessed arsonist. This as you know is a lie. Thank you so very much for your time, and thank you again for seeing the truth. Sincerley, Sara Byron

Le, I served with you on this trial and considering I was one of 'those' who did not want to be on the jury, I enjoyed every minute of it. I thought your blog was well written. I found the whole process very interesting and important. I don't know if you followed up after the trial on past news stories, but if you havn't, you will find one interesting part of the story that we were not privy too. Even though there was this hidden part to the story, it just goes to prove that we did our job without any outside prejudice. Thanks to all the others I served with in making this a positve experience. Brian

I had the pleasure of serving on a jury last summer just before 4th of July in Superior Court of Arizona located at 40th Street and Union Hills. Since I usually serve every couple of years, I was pleasantly surprised at the location and parking of the court, the caring staff and the great attitude of the jury pool.

We also talked to the lawyers after our decision to let them know what we thought of their performance and the performance of their witnesses. This was a very different but a new and great experience.

What I also didn't expect was the thank you letter that I received from Eddward P Ballinger, Jr. the presiding judge. The man ran a professional court room, took all of us into consideration with his decisions and took the time to send a thank you letter. Next time I vote, I will know at least one outstanding judge on the ballot, and I will vote for him.

Nicely written. This is why those of us who work with juries are such ardent believers in the jury system. They may not want to be there, but once they are they do the job. Possibly such integrity is seldom seen outside the jury group situation, as most believe that if someone is accused they must be guilty. All any defense attorney wants is what happened here - a reasoned evaluation of the evidence, and the requirement of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. It is the jury system which separates us from the despotic dictatorships of the world, and we would be one without it. Good job.
