Arizona State University President Michael Crow has been named by Time magazine as one of the nation’s 10 best leaders in higher education.
Basically, Crow gets credit for getting ASU off the party school list (or at least downplaying that angle) and for getting people to take the university seriously for its research and academic instruction.
I wonder if Crow gets any bonus money for this ranking?

A statement about the state of higher education. Who was #1: Dean Wormer?
What most reporters fail to notice is Crow’s bullish behavior that started at Columbia in the case of prominent Latina Prof. Graciela Chichilnisky who Crow tried to crush. At Crow’s behest Columbia spent millions in litigation fees trying to fire her. Crow does the same thing at ASU to people who stand in his way or if he simply doesn’t like them. He spends millions on litigation to ruin people’s careers including several friends and others. And yet we reward a man who leads a school with below average graduation rates. A school heavily in debt because of Crow’s bloated ago. ASU is a top rated party school. Crow does not deserve this award. Time Magazine didn’t go a good job vettting candidates.
